Part of Muriel Joseph George's original birthday dolls, this #5 doll is in good, but not perfect condition. Notice her hand touching the top of the numeral indicating the earliest version of the #5 birthday doll. ALSO, the original price ticket from Hoffman's Drug Store. It would be interesting to know where that was. The $1.25 price tells us it was quite a while ago. This earliest version of #5 could be from the late 1950s. She includes the oval gold/black Josef Originals label, original hangtag and small Japan label. She is discounted because there are two dings from the manufacturer that they painted over, she has a little porcelain bump under her left wing that was also painted over, and the gold detailing shows a couple of brush strokes on her dress sleeve...but proof of the delicate artistry that created these vintage birthday dolls. She sells for $30 plus our flat rate shipping to anywhere in the continental US. Thanks for looking!
