This is Sakura...one of Muriel's earliest pieces from her California collection of porcelain figurines.

This is one of Muriel's early pieces and is called Sakura.  She has some issues that put her in our Odd Lots section...perfect for someone wanting an early piece to fill their collection.  Quite a few of the flwers are missing, there are a couple of chips and crazing, typical of a piece of this age (guessing she would be from the 1940s-early 1950s. Her right arm also shows what is a hairline crack under the glaze. She is darling to look at, and would be perfect for someone wanting to fill a space in their personal collection.  She is shown at $160-170 in the 2008 edition of Josef Originals Third Edition by Jim and Kaye Whitaker and Dee Harris on page 9.

    This doll came with some imperfections which were described in advance. However, after having received her I found that the imperfections in no way detracted from the quality and beauty of the doll. I washed her up and prominently displayed her in one of my curio cabinets along with some like pieces. I believe she is very happy in her new home!
