THIS PIECE HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY SOLD AND IS LISTED FOR REFERENCE ONLY....
This is Hungary, a most desired piece of the Little Internationals series, that was created by Muriel Joseph George in 1959. The collection originally included eighteen countries, but eventually grew to twenty-nine figures, with some added and some retired between 1959 and 1985. There were also some made with a bisque (dull) finish. I do not see Hungary very often...and this piece is in excellent condition, and is a rare piece to find. She includes the oval silver/black Josef Originals label. The silver/black version is understood to be an older label than the gold/black version. She does have a small paint smudge on her right side under the apron. Definitely a factory issue, but please see the photographs. I'm not sure if collectors hang on to it, or if there were far fewer pieces of this one made, but they do not come along very often. She SOLD for $70 plus our flat rate shipping to anywhere in the continental United States. Thanks for looking!
